Have you thought about creating your very own home cinema during lockdown?
Well, you’re not alone. In our latest research, we discovered that 12.8 million UK households have either thought about, or actually created a cinema in their homes over the last 12 months.
We found that the average cost that was spent on creating a home cinema was £2,130, resulting in a whopping total of £7.7 billion spent on pimping-up our viewing experiences. That equates to roughly 1.1 billion cinema tickets!
Wondering how you can create a cinema in your home without breaking the bank? The Hisense team has pulled together our top tips on creating the best cinematic experience possible that will help fight the nostalgia.
The Big Screen
First things first, you need to choose the screen for you. Why not try a portable projector? Or, if you’re looking for something a little more permanent, our latest range of extra-large screen laser TVs could be just the ticket. Our latest 88” Sonic Screen Laser TV offers a powerful, theatre-level audio solution and ultra-realistic images to create a premium cinematic experience. What’s more, our Laser TV features a smart sensor and low blue light so that it’s eye-friendly even after watching for a prolonged period of time, and comes equipped with all your favourite streaming apps, so that you can have a movie marathon any night of the week!
Lights, Camera, Action
Ambiance is everything. It sets the mood, creates an atmosphere, and most importantly, provides you with a bit of escapism for the next two hours of your Saturday night. For the ultimate cinema experience, we’d recommend switching off the ‘big lights’ and opting for some pockets of lights around the room. Lamps, fairy lights and candles are all good options to help create the right mood. Make sure you’ve drawn the curtains to block out the outside world – or better yet, invest in some blackout blinds to really take you back to the theatre.
Sitting Comfortably?
The best thing about having a cinema experience at home is that you don’t have to sit upright on a rigid chair! Yes, we admit, most cinemas have pretty swanky reclinable armchairs these days, but at home, the world is your oyster. Sofa? Bean bag chair? Mattress on the floor? The seating options are endless.
And don’t forget the blankets! Whether you’re settling down for a rom com marathon or a scary movie night, you want to be tucked up right. Make sure you and your viewing buddies have one big enough to cover you all, or perhaps one each. Or why not grab a duvet from your bed if you’re feeling extra snug?
Snack Time
It wouldn’t be a trip to the cinema without the obligatory viewing snacks. So to complete your home cinema, we’d recommend buying in some popcorn, ice cream tubs, nachos, tango ice blast… Whatever your flavour, make sure you have plenty!
