Six Ultimate Cleaning Hacks using only your Dishwasher

When it comes to cleaning our homes, many of us are searching for ways to make it as easy as possible but still achieve that perfectly clean finish.

Descale your shower head

Save yourself some serious time by making use of your dishwasher to clean your shower head. Simply unscrew the shower head and pop it in the dishwasher. This can be done once every few months when needed to leave your shower head sparkling new.

Clean children’s toys

Give your children’s toys a deep clean with minimal effort. Place them on the top rack and set the dishwasher on a gentle cycle. Be sure to pop any smaller parts or toys in a mesh bag to avoid them dropping to the bottom!

Refresh your pet’s collars and toys

Sometimes your pet collars and toys require more than just a spin in the washing machine – give them a thorough clean by chucking them in the dishwasher. This is perfect for hard plastic and rubber, but make sure to avoid leather as this can cause damage.

Spruce up silk flowers

After some intense cleaning our sponges can look and feel a little worse for wear, and often end up in the bin. To avoid unnecessary waste, give them a refresh by adding them in to your next dishwasher load. High temperatures will kill bacteria and leave the sponge ready for use.

Disinfect makeup brushes

Makeup brushes build up bacteria over time and should be sanitised once every two weeks. You can speed up the washing process by running them through the dishwasher, making use of the high temperature settings to eliminate germs!
