    “WORTH EVERY POUND”

    WORTH EVERY PENNY I WAS WATCHING THIS TELEVISION IN MY WISH-LIST FOR A WHILE AS I EDITED NOW MY LIST OF TELEVISIONS TO BUY I YOUTUBED REVIEWS WHICH WHERE SO SO IM GLAD I WAS NOT PUT OFF BY ANY NEGATIVITY WHICH THERE WAS AS ALWAYS ON SOCIAL MEDIA IN 2013 MY SHOCKED BY HOW EASILY THIS HISENSE 65” UHD 4K DOLBY VISION / DOLBY AUDIO TV WAS TO ACCESSIBLE AND PLACE ON MY TELEVISION STAND WHICH I WAS SEVERELY WORRIED ABOUT LIFTING THE TV ON TO THE STAND WITH MY MUM ( just go’s to show how light and easy it is to assemble and mount) AUDIO IS CRISP AND SHARP MY ONLY REASON NOT TO GIVE IT A FULL 5 STARS IS THE BASS IS VERY TINNY AND WAY TO LIGHT FOR A POWERFUL TV LIKE THIS IMAX DOLBY VISION DOLBY AUDIO BUILT NO BUFFERING USING THE BUILT IN APPS ( eg: AMAZON VIDEO PRIME , NETFLIX , DISNEY PLUS , NOW , HAYU , BBC I-PLAYER , ITV-X , CHANNEL 4 OD , CHANNEL 5 , YOUTUBE , RAKUTEN.     “Excellent TV”

    I've had this TV for 2 weeks now and must admit I'm very pleased with its functionality and performance. Picture quality is very good but needs few adjustments so as it becomes pleasing to the eyes. Of course, it's a matter of personal taste. Streaming in hd is excellent. Pictures are definitely clearer. Normal tv in SD isn't so good. Sound is adequate. Viewing angles are great. Don't like the remote. Too small with buttons close together. Not good.

    “Lots of pluses just a few niggles.”

    After two weeks of searching the Internet and trolling the electrical stores, I settled on either the 55 inch U8G or a refurbished LG/Samsung one Oled and the other Qled. I discounted the Samsung because they only offer 1 years discount and then the LG because in the description it had severe ghosting issues. Neither of them were new and only offered shop warranty of 3 months. So the only New TV within my price range of £400 to £450 absolute max but it is ULED (what is ULED) it is but a name, sorry if you disagree. However the TV is Quantum dot, so in all honesty a QLED TV. Everything I had read and watched on YouTube kept bringing me back to the HISENSE brand. The U8G was just out of my price, but I have a bit of a knack for finding bargains and true to form, Thank You PRC Direct, they were offering the U8G for £399 including delivery. So the TV arrived and the two gentlemen helped place the now unbowed TV onto the vacant unit. To start with, the U8G looks exceptionally good even before it was switched on. At the back it is different from the American version. This has some form of surround sound with rear facing speakers that alledgedly bounce sound of the walls and a top set of speakers that bounce off the ceiling. Thank you Hisense that was one of the unexpected bonuses. So was connecting the cables and stand. Now the stand itself is not the same as the American ones but are a heavy three pronged affair, one at the back and two protruding to the front at an angle. This allows the soundbar to sit on them to save room. Oh yeah I have a Samsung soundbar. So to the front. As I am removing the plastic you realise that the screen has almost no bezel and the screen seems to float over it. Now switch on and follow the instructions, if you are a techie you can change all the bits you want. Once all done go to YouTube and watch a 4K or 8K video. Trust me you will be amazed. The colour of the animals or scenery is almost too good to be true. At this point I actually don't have much knowledge to say is the U8G better than all the others. Well probably not as good as 65 inch and above Samsung, Sony and LG etc. But at 55 inch level I personally think Hisense knocks the spots of them, anywhere below the £899 range. Bear in mind this was £399. The remote is easy to use and the voice activation was surprising easy to use. So with soundbar connected and 4K video from YouTube I get the wife sitting nearenough central, I get a cynical comment of YES I agree, it is stunning but how much did it cost. I show her the receipt. Though I am not a techie or a perfectionist or even someone that can buy expensive, I am only able to give an honest opinion to something that I can afford. In these trying times where money is unbelievably tight for those that are out of work, disabled or permanent carers that have no choice over finances, you may find that you are in desperate need of a TV due to circumstances Troll the Internet and find that bargain within your budget. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THE HISENSE 55U8GQTUK. But there is always a but. The TV needs HEVC so try finding a download from Hisense or from any of the stores. HEVC is something to help play certain videos, movies or higher quality TV programmes. Get to know the settings. It is here that you can change colour, sound and things like DOLBY ATMOS etc. Picture as said is one of the best, if not the best in my humble opinion. Sound, not so much. The surround sound depends on how you locate the TV I assume. Mine is in a corner and the sound of talking is suppressed somewhat so you need to increase the volume. A soundbar is so much better, unless you don't actually have one so cost restrictions, look in the settings and take a little time to perfect your choices. Would I buy another Hisense in the future YES. I would definitely. Then again. In our immediate future we may not ba able to buy any TV. To finish. Go look at a Hisense tv. Go look at anything Hisense Give the brand a chance. Don't say, won't buy cause they're Chinese. Don't believe the faff. I would buy because of the price. The build quality I believe is as good as any. Bezel is almost non existing. Sound, not so much. Picture quality just so much better than anything else near the price and unbelievably better than the standard 4K or UHD TV 's. Regards Tom

    I purchased my Hisense U8G four weeks ago and I am so glad that I did both the picture and sound are excellent and the quality of the overall finish of the T V is very good My only negative is that it does not have the Now T V app
