With the current climate of the UK, we can all appreciate how much of a chore cooking is. In this heat, a sugary snack or breakfast to boost your energy is essential. Here are some sweet recipes which are quick and simple to make with very little clean up left over. These tasty recipes will leave the whole house satisfied and can be paired alongside ice cream to cool you down.

Blueberry muffin in a mug.

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 Egg white

This one is very simple; mix everything together and pop in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds on high power.

Our smart cook function provides 100% power via the 1-6 minute functions, which is ideal for this recipe.

French toast in a mug.

Ingredients:

  • Your desired amount of butter
  • Bread cubes
  • Egg
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • Your desired amount of cinnamon
  • Vanilla extract

Method:

Firstly, cut your bread into mini cubes and put into a cup with a teaspoon of butter. Then in a separate bowl, crack an egg and add 3 tablespoons of milk with a dash of vanilla extract and cinnamon. After this, mix with the bread cubes and put into the microwave for 1 minute. Dependent on your desired texture, keep adding an additional few second to crisp it to your liking!

Cinnamon roll in a mug.

Dough ingredients:

  • ¼ Flour
  • 1 teaspoon of White/brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of melted butter or an oil of your choice

Filling ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of melted butter/ oil of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar/ sweetener of your choice
  • Dash of vanilla extract to your own strength

Method:

Mix the flour and sugar in a bowl. Crack both eggs into it and add melted better/ or oil and mix until it thickens, then set aside. After this, add melted oil/ butter to small bowl alongside sweetener/sugar, ground cinnamon and vanilla extract. Set aside again. Mix the dough one more time, then spread onto a long strip of parchment paper. Spread the filling on top of the dough and roll into a spiral shape. Pop the cinnamon roll into a mug, then into the microwave for approximately 2 minutes; a bit less if you desire a doughy roll, or a bit more for a crisp. Top with a frosting combo of your choice.

These versatile snacks can be made healthier, or not, to your own personal taste. If any of these are a family favourite, Hisense Microwaves have a memory function which enables you to ‘save’ the settings for three of your favourite recipes so that in the future it is even easier!
